Yoga and Pilates: The

Fundamental Differences


This workshop aims to answer the common question "What exactly are the differences between Yoga and Pilates?"

In the workshop, we will explore a brief history and context of both practices, and identify the different aims, health benefits and movement sequences within each, to distinguish how they are similar and how they differ.

Lesson One: History and Breathing

Lesson Three: Philosophy and Principles

Lesson Four: Relaxation in Yoga and Pilates


Delivered by Nick Smith

Nick Smith is a professional professional dancer and dance teacher graduating in 2010. Nick is also completing his Dance Science MSc which he will be graduating from in 2020.

Nick is a renowned Freelance Yoga, Pilates and fitness personal instructor. Nick is also a part time Lecturer in Dance at De Montfort and Wolverhampton Universities.

Nick is interested in anything relating to physical movement practices!
